The Indonesian Diaspora Network Victoria hosted the Diaspora Fair 2026, showcasing Indonesian culture and providing a platform for diverse diaspora communities to celebrate their traditions.
Collingwood Town Hall came alive on Saturday, 7 February, as the Indonesian Diaspora Network Victoria brought together multiple diaspora cultures for Diaspora Fair 2026. The event featured interactive workshops and dance performances representing Indonesian, Chinese, Vietnamese and other communities.
Among the participants was Siska Prabonowati Dart, a patchwork quilting instructor who demonstrated the art of making fabric "yoyos". What sets her work apart is her use of Indonesian batik fabric. Siska said she appreciated the organisers' open approach in collaborating with different cultural communities.

Attendee Bintari Setyorini, an Indonesian language teacher in Victoria, attended the fair to network and gather ideas for cultural activities she could bring into her classroom. She emphasised the importance of multicultural events like this, saying they help people remember their roots whilst appreciating other cultures.
