UTS Italian academic reveals auction secrets

Have you ever participated in an auction, but when you arrived at the site you were immediately discouraged because there were more people than there were places available? Two scholars of the University of Technology Sydney are co-authors of a research that shows that the more bidders are at an auction, the less a single bidder believes they can win, which has a demotivating effect on the desire to secure the object (or the property) up for grabs.


We talked about it with UTS senior lecturer Antonio Rosato, who together with his colleague Agnieszka Tymula, authored this study.
