The following information about the process of ATO winding up a company is brought to you by Andrew Jo, an accountant specialised in insolvency from Green Gate Advisory and David Chang, a lawyer from David Chang Legal.


It is known that the ATO is owed a significant amount of money from taxpayers, and of those taxpayers, the majority were small to medium-sized businesses. The ATO is taking a more aggressive approach in collecting the outstanding tax debts, hence the reason why there has been a significant increase in the winding up applications filed by the ATO.
