Many Nepalis travel to the Middle East for employment. Data released by the Nepali government last month says that 1.7 million Nepalis are living in various Middle Eastern countries for foreign employment, study and other opportunities. Their safety has been a major concern for many, following increasing tensions in the region. Shanti Pal and Anju Mandal are among many in Nepal, whose family members are situated in the Middle East. Our Nepal correspondent Pratichya Dulal spoke with Pal and Mandal, who say they are concerned for the safety of their husbands, who are currently in Dubai and Saudi Arabia.
