Punjabi is one of the languages that were added to the recent launch of multilingual website by the Whittlesea city council.
Victoria State’s Whittlesea council boasts of an Indian population forming the fifth largest chunk in a population of 154,900 after the English, Macedonians, Italians and Greeks.
The City of Whittlesea's language and religion statistics provide an indicator of cultural identity and ethnicity of this region.
According to the current available data, city has about 3000 Punjabi speaking population while the number of Hindi speaking residents is 1652.
With a growing Punjabi population Whittlesea council has now added Punjabi language in the newly launched website.
The council offers services in various other languages including Arabic, Greek, Hindi, Punjabi, Tamil etc.
