Tongan academic Dr Maryanne Pale is organising a relief campaign to assist women and children in crisis following the volcanic eruption and tsunami in Tonga.

Dr Maryanne Pale teaches at Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne and is a passionate advocate of womens' issues in the Pacific diaspora.

She told us about her concerns on the mental health of women and children in Tonga after the volcanic eruptions and tsunami, so she decided to organise a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds to help the Women in Crisis Centre in Tonga.
