'Adakar' is a theatre and cultural group that seeks to provide a platform to showcase the creative expression and talents of the South Asian community in Australia. Group founder Saba Zaidi has picked up two classic plays by feminist Urdu writer Ismat Chughtai based on women living a life of oppression. Along with director Saba Zaidi, artists Abida Malik and Zar Khan have acted in these plays. The jubilant team is happy to join together after Covid and members are sharing about their roles and storyline besides experiences of working together in Australian theatre.
