The NIPT test performed during pregnancy is not government-subsidized, however, it aids in the early detection of certain abnormalities, including Down syndrome and various complications. Dr. Mahnoor states that it is highly advisable to undergo this test if possible.
Dr. Mahnoor has been practicing medicine for the past ten years and is currently a General Practitioner (GP) in Australia. In an interview with SBS, she highlighted that while Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing (NIPT) provides highly accurate results,but it is not 100% foolproof.
Dr. Mahnoor believes that doctors should offer expectant parents the option to undergo this test. Although there is no government subsidy available for it, she emphasizes that early diagnosis of any conditions is crucial for the well-being of the unborn baby.
