Last year, Pakistan AFL surprised pundits by winning a title in its debut at the AFL Asian Championships in Bangkok. This victory has generated excitement as preparations kick off under the coachship of Australian coach Michael Gallus, who has been with the team since 2017. Before returning to Pakistan, he spoke with SBS Urdu about the potential of young male and female athletes, announcing that the top two performers in the coming Asian Championship will be invited to Australia for the following season.
The Australian Football League (AFL), often referred to as 'Footy' or 'Aussie Rules,' saw the Pakistani AFL team become the Asian champion last year, creating a wave of excitement and enthusiasm.

Michael Gallus's connection with Pakistani footy began in 2017 when he coached a women's team at a tournament in Australia.

While most teams were bolstered by Aussie expats, including former AFL players and current WAFL stars, the Pakistan side consisted entirely of Pakistani nationals.

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam will host the Asia Cup from December 6-8 in 2024.
