This decision has been introduced in light of rising fuel prices and the increasing pressure on people’s daily expenses. The objective is clear: to make everyday travel easier for citizens, reduce reliance on private vehicles, and curb the growing demand for petrol.

Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan has stated that this is a temporary and emergency measure that will remain in effect from March 31 to April 30.

Melbourne resident Muhammad Zaid Shakir says that this decision is timely. According to him, “Although this relief is only for one month, it will bring noticeable ease to daily life and reduce petrol expenses.”

According to Muhammad Yaseen, who is associated with the transport business, “Ridesharing drivers are not very happy with this decision, but in the long term, this relief will benefit everyone.”

Experts say that while such measures may provide short-term relief for daily public needs.
