SBS Urdu spoke to Zeeshan Qureshi and the musicians involved in the project to learn more about the work behind the nasheed and the personal story connected to the project.
According to Zeeshan Qureshi, the nasheed was recorded live with a full band, featuring a singer from The Voice Australia along with two other Australian musicians. He described it as a new and memorable experience.
The lyrics were written by Muhammad Qasim Qureshi, Zeeshan’s uncle, who passed away just four days before the recording. As a result, the nasheed also became a tribute to him.
Producer Fakhar Abbas was responsible for arranging the music for the project. The Australian musicians involved in the nasheed also shared their experiences. Ruby, who played the harmonium, described it as a completely new experience for her. Tabla player Christian said it introduced him to a new genre of music. Mandolin player Faisal Rana described working with the band as a very enjoyable experience, while Gaby, a contestant on Season 12 of The Voice Australia, said playing the flute was a new and wonderful experience for her.
