Rain could not dampen the enthusiasm of participants of this car rally who hit wet roads in Sydney to celebrate Pakistan Day in a unique manner.
This rally of over a hundred cars was cheered on by Sydneysiders who watched it with curiosity. Cars decorated with Pakistani flags were accompanied by dancing and singing youngsters, who had taken to the road to mark Pakistan’s national day.
The rally was organised by the youth wing of the Pakistan Australia Association (PAA).

A 15 km-long drive began from Willey Park towards Granville in the afternoon in which 130 cars with 250 participants took 90 minutes to reach their destination.
The cars were cheered on by passersby all along the way.
Danish Choudhry, one of the organisers, told SBS Urdu that the rally complied with local rules.
“The rally was supported by local authorities and police. Volunteer marshals accompanied the participants,” he added.
This was followed by a Pakistan Day event attended by the community in large numbers, in which also saw dignitaries, Pakistani and Australian officials gather to celebrate the day of Pakistan’s inception and the adoption of its first constitution.
Mr Choudhry was relieved the heavy rain did not spoil the celebration.
