INTERVIEW: What this Pacific leader hopes will come out of COP28

This year's UN climate summit, COP28, is underway in the United Arab Emirates. For low-lying Pacific Island nations, the stakes couldn't be higher.

This year's UN climate summit, COP28, is being held in the United Arab Emirates, one of the world's biggest oil producers.

With more than 100 world leaders present, the summit is biggest gathering of world leaders of the year.

Also among the 70,000 delegates is Reverend James Bhagwan, the General Secretary of the Pacific Conference of Churches.

He spoke to Biwa Kwan about why COP28 matters and what he is hoping is achieved at the end of the fortnight of talks
