The Republican-controlled US House of Representatives has voted to force the release of Justice Department files on the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
It's an outcome President Donald Trump had fought for months before finally ending his opposition.
Republican Representative Thomas Massie says the release of the files is a victory for Epstein's victims and all victims of sexual assault.
"We'll reclaim the people's house with this vote. It's going to be a victory for survivors, not just survivors of the Epstein sex trafficking scandal, the thousand survivors that exist. Some of them are victims. They're no longer alive. Some have committed suicide. They share one thing in common. Their youth was robbed from them. Much of their lives were robbed from them. But they're claiming it back. We're going to help them claim that back."
The Australian Federal Police has issued an urgent warning for departing international students: don’t sell your bank accounts and I-D to criminals.
Criminal syndicates are offering university students returning home between $200-$500 for their identity documents and use of their Australian bank accounts.
Criminals use them to impersonate real people or scam savings from vulnerable Australians.
They may also offer the students a commission of about 10 per cent on the money received.
The AFP says students could find themselves permanently linked to crime networks.
The weather bureau says a tropical cyclone has formed over the Northern Territory.
It says Tropical Cyclone Fina [[fee-nuh]] has fomed north of Darwin and is moving slowly to the east-north-east, away from the coast.
Last night meteorologist Miriam Bradbury said the system was expected to intensify and change course in the next 36 hours.
"It's at that time that we would officially name this system as a tropical cyclone, using the name tropical cyclone Fina. From that point, the system may well drop to the south, possibly intensifying to a category two system. However, there are quite a range of forecast scenarios from Wednesday onwards regarding how this system will develop, how strong it might get, and where it will track."
She said rain, storms and showers were to be expected and residents should continue to monitor and follow safety advice.A football tournament is being held in central Gaza for players with limb amputations.
Titled the Hope Tournament, it involves players who were injured during the 2018 border demonstrations, while others lost limbs during the latest two-year war with Israel.
Madi Nawasra is among them.
"My house was targeted on December 24th, and my leg was amputated. I was a football player before, and now that my leg is amputated, I am still determined to continue playing football."
Organisers say the tournament is designed to revive hope and bring smiles to the faces of people with disabilities more broadly.
