'A new nuclear arms race': the Government pledges a further $53bn for defence

The government has warned of a new nuclear arms race, as it unveiled a commitment to lift defence spending. Around $53bn dollars is flagged for the next ten years, including increases in spending on the AUKUS submarine pact. But it's far from the spend initially called for by the United States.
