Australia and Germany strengthen defence ties

Just days after the head of the European Commission addressed Australia's parliament, a key EU member has called for bolstered direct military ties. Germany's defence minister has called for greater cooperation with Australia; while warning he does not want his country pulled into the war in the Middle East.
