Marngrook host Grant Hansen has rejected a call for an apology from North Melbourne coach Brad Scott over a palava for resting players that has some questioning the AFL's integrity rules.

The Kangaroos were given permission to rest up to 10 players for their game again Richmond.

Coach Scott ended up resting seven players and defended his decision after the game.

"I haven't heard anyone say this but I've been led to believe that there are people who think that our intention wasn't to win the game.

Well they should be ashamed of themselves and we take that as a personal insult. And I hope they apologise.

but Grant Hansen was defiant. "He's certainly not going to get any apologies from this show," he said on the Marngrook Footy Show the following Thursday night.

"Leaving out so many players from that side, I think is questioning the integrity of the game … he rested seven players … he can't be serious about an apology can he?"

He rested seven players … he can't be serious about an apology can he?

But fellow Marngrook panelist and former Brisbane premiership-winning player, Chris Johnson, disagreed."He might not have the best cattle but you go out with every intentions to go and win the game and I think that’s the point he was trying to make,” Chris said.

What everyone could agree on was Gilbert 'Gilly' McAdam's contribution.

"You solve it like this," Gilly said. "Dockers deserve torest their players because they finished top of the ladder. There's no influence on the ladder.

In the case of the Kangaroos they're gonna influence the ladder.

"In the case of the Kangaroos they're gonna influence the ladder.

"The AFL can make a change. They can set guidelines, they can set rules so that this doesn’t happen again next year. Because you know what’s gonna happen from now on? This is gonna happen every year.

"They need to change the rules and sort it out."
