Allan Clarke knows his s**t about Indigenous affairs, media and popular culture and now, he's bringing that to NITV's The Point

Allan Clarke will be a regular social commentator guest on NITV's The Point

As a young Aboriginal boy growing up in the small town of Bourke, NSW, approximately 750 km north-west of Sydney, Allan Clarke grew up fascinated by the power of media and it's ability to colour people's feelings and emotions.

From country NSW to the intimacy of screens throughout Australia, Clarke is now the Indigenous Affairs Reporter for popular culture website, Buzzfeed. He produces compelling, funny and frank stories with Australia about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander life, presenting content in a unique and modern way - no longer are Aboriginal people simply statistics or numbers in a report.

He has built up a cult following on social media, where his social commentary on Indigenous issues such as, praising Linda Burney, condemning Pauline Hanson, throwing in the odd #QANDA comment, has engaged with many Internet savvy Australians.

Starting his career off as the "copy boy" for Fairfax Media to working on NITV's own, Living Black program, Clarke has an extensive journalistic repertoire, which now sees him debut as a regular social commentator on this season's The Point with Stan Grant.

Clarke says he's looking forward to having frank and honest discussions about the stories impacting the Indigenous community that week.

He is also eagerly awaiting the ability to work for a large international media company that gives him "a unique insight into how the world views Australia's relationship with its Indigenous people".
