A day created to counter the disparity between our solar system and the Gregorian calendar, Febuary 29 only crops up in a leap year. But that's not the only reason tomorrow's going to be different. It's also the beginning of a different style of news and current affairs. One for all Australians.

The Topic

Each weeknight, the show will tackle a topic of major significance in the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. First up, Stan and his team look at the legacy of our past and the state of the nation. Covering major moments in the nation's history and the issues that affect us today, Monday's show asks: how did we get to where we are? And where do we go from here? Let's look back in time, together as a country, so we can truly move forward.

The Guests

The program will speak to a variety of guests, engaging them in debates and discussions within Indigenous Affairs and beyond. The debut episode's guest? Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, appearing in a special half-hour interview.

The Big Question

We want to know what you think about the big issues, so The Point with Stan Grant will pose questions that you can respond to using the hashtag #ThePointNITV. Monday night's question is a big one, and we'd love to hear your thoughts. Ready? Here it is:
If you were Prime Minister for a day what would you do to close the gap in Indigenous outcomes?
