1. Income

The income gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians is largest for those who are employed full-time.

2. Wages

Figures show that the pay gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous workers has widened in recent years.

3. Employment

Employment participation is a key measure of the Close the Gap campaign, which pledges to halve the gap in employment outcomes by 2018.

4. Life expectancy

The life expectancy gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people has closed slightly, but Indigenous women still die 9.5 years before their non-Indigenous counterparts.
