Rae Johnston is well known for her work at Gizmodo as someone who is able to present news and opinions in a way that can be appreciated by both hardcore fans and newcomers alike. She is passionate about promoting Indigenous stories, and women's stories, in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), where both are so commonly underrepresented.

A proud Wiradjuri woman, Rae proudly referes to herself as a "geek Mum" to her teenage son, "best known as my Padawan".

"The chance to chat technology on The Point (which I'm a big fan of) every week is an incredible opportunity."

"I'm looking forward to bringing important local STEM news to the NITV audience, and hopefully inspiring more mob to get involved. We are woefully underrepresented in the tech and video game space, which is being used increasingly to approach solutions for health issues, language preservation and even storytelling. I just can't wait to share it all."

You can see her work on Gizmodo Australia, where she is a full time technology journalist and host and producer of Gizmodo's podcast Static, as well as on Kotaku, Lifehacker, Business insider and PopSugar. She has also been featured on shows like The Project, Today, Lateline, Sunrise, Today Tonight and The Feed as well as national news programs on SBS, ABC, Channel Ten, Channel 7 and Channel Nine. She is an experienced actor, voice artist, MC and live host, and graduated from Eora College with a Certificate III in Theatre. She has performed in theatre, television, feature and short films and regularly lend my voice to radio campaigns.

As though that didn't sound like a busy enough schedule already, Rae also hosts a monthly live video game talk show, Bonus Stage, at Sydney’s Giant Dwarf Theatre.
