SBS WorldWatch is moving to SBS On Demand
Changes coming 18 September 2026
SBS WorldWatch will move from linear TV channel 35 to an enhanced digital offering on SBS On Demand with news in 38 languages.
The move will offer greater choice and flexibility in how and when you can watch international news in your language.

About SBS On Demand
SBS On Demand is a free digital streaming service provided by SBS, enabling Australian audiences to watch programming whenever and from wherever they prefer.
Through the SBS On Demand website or app, audiences can access more than 15,000 hours of local and international programming across more than 60 languages, spanning news and current affairs, documentary, drama, world movies, entertainment, food, children’s content and sport.
For multilingual audiences, this includes dedicated language collections, as well as selected English-language shows subtitled in Arabic, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese.

No, the service remains free for all Australians.
How do I create an account on SBS On Demand?
Step 1: To set up an account on SBS On Demand, you will need the following:
- A compatible internet-connected device, such as a supported smart TV, mobile device (e.g. phone or tablet) or laptop
- A reliable broadband or mobile data (internet) connection
- An email address to create an account
Step 2: Once you have these, you can go to the SBS On Demand website here, or download the SBS On Demand app on your device from the Apple App Store or Google Play.
Step 3: Within the SBS On Demand website or app, click on 'Create Account' on the home page and then follow the instructions to create your account.
What if I don’t have a reliable broadband or mobile data (internet) connection?
You can continue to access SBS’s locally produced news and community stories in more than 60 languages via SBS Audio’s linear radio channels. View schedule
Will international news bulletins still be broadcast on SBS and SBS2 (formerly SBS VICELAND)?
Yes, all English-language international news bulletins that are currently being broadcast on SBS and SBS2 will continue to be available on those channels.
Will the SBS WorldWatch channel still be available on satellite (VAST)?
No, the channel will not be available via satellite (VAST) after 18 September 2026.
Will the SBS WorldWatch channel still be available on Foxtel?
No, the channel will not be available on Foxtel after 18 September 2026.
How can I find out what languages and programs are available on SBS WorldWatch?
