This week's Food TV picks

Poh makes like an Italian mama: "I’m going to cook with our first-pick tomatoes today! I am going to do gnocchi with a fresh tomato sauce. For some reason, gnocchi has a terrible reputation for being really difficult to make, but it’s not true at all."

Heston on a soffritto twist: "This is at the heart of nearly every ragù or classic Italian sauce. It's very simple; it's a combination of onion, celery and carrot. In this case, I'm using a lot of carrot. Now I'm going to add an ingredient that would be unthinkable to many Italians - this, garlic."
