Happy Rahman, a dedicated female entrepreneur and advocate for acid attack survivors, leads an organisation committed to reducing and ultimately eliminating acid violence in Bangladesh. Her mission is to ensure that survivors can rebuild their lives and live with dignity.
In Bangladesh, a woman’s life can change forever when she becomes a victim of an acid attack. The consequences are devastating — victims suffer horrific physical injuries as the corrosive substance burns through skin, often leading to severe disfigurement.
Acid not only destroys skin tissue but can also damage the eyes and dissolve bone. In many cases, victims lose facial features such as their ears or nose entirely.
