Queste le parole del PM Scott Morrison, pronunciate lunedì durante la sua Bradfield Oration a Sydney, durante la quale ha preannunciato tagli al numero di immigrati a cui verrà concesso di arrivare in Australia.
Morrison ha dichiarato di voler tagliare il numero di immigrati in Australia di 30,000 unità, per risolvere il problema delle città sempre più congestionate dal traffico.
A questo proposito, il PM ha dichiarato enfaticamente: "Le strade sono intasate, bus e treni sono pieni. Le scuole non accettano più iscrizioni, e sto prestando attenzione a quanto mi state dicendo.”
"Australians in our bigger cities, particularly here in Sydney but also in Melbourne and south-east Queensland, are very concerned about the rate of population growth. Not the existence of population growth, but the pace of population growth. The roads are clogged. The buses and the trains are full. The schools are taking no more enrolments. We have become, I think, in Sydney and Melbourne, a bit of a victim of our own success. And in south-east Queensland." Prime Minister Scott Morrison
