Le truppe danesi sono sbarcate in Groenlandia per un esercitazione militare quando sulla costa est australiana erano le sette di questa mattina. Il presidente degli Stati Uniti Donald Trump continua a spingere per la conquista del territorio danese, minacciando l'alleanza NATO, di cui fanno parte gli Stati Uniti e le nazioni europee. L'esercitazione Arctic Resilience fa seguito a un incontro tra il governo danese e la ministra degli Esteri groenlandese Vivian Motzfeld, che si è rivolta ai media a Bruxelles.

Un surfista è stato morso da uno squalo nella regione della Mid North Coast New South Wales, nel quarto attacco confermato di squalo nello Stato nelle ultime 48 ore. Martedì mattina un uomo di 39 anni stava facendo surf a Point Ploma, a nord di Port Macquarie, quando uno squalo gli ha morso la tavola. Il distretto sanitario locale della Mid North Coast, ha dichiarato che l'uomo è stato portato in ospedale con lievi tagli e abrasioni a una gamba ed è poi stato dimesso. Intanto le zone balneari nell'area delle Norden beaches sono state chiuse per le prossime 48 ore. Il CEO del Surf Lifesaving in New South Wales Steven Pierce, ha spiegato che la pioggia rende le condizioni in acqua più pericolose.

Unsafe at the moment because of the turbidity and just the murkiness of the water. Do not enter the water for swimming or surfing for the next 48 hours. This is unprecedented to have this amount of shark activity incidents in the 24 hours, and this is just one of the initiatives that's put in place to try and protect everyone's safety.

Le autorità dell'isola di Gary, conosciute in precedenza come Fraser Island, hanno esortato i turisti a prestare attenzione alla crescente attività dei dingo dopo che il corpo di una donna canadese è stato trovato ieri mattina. Non è chiaro se la diciannovenne sia stata attaccata dai dingo o sia annegata dopo aver detto ai suoi amici che stava andando a fare una nuotata mattutina. Alcuni testimoni riferiscono di avere visto una decina di dingo vicino al suo corpo, ma la polizia ha invitato ad attendere i risultati dell'autopsia che verranno pubblicati domani. A very unusual situation to have. You know, a body on the beach and not know, you know, if she drowned or if she was attacked by a pack of dingoes. We have seen an escalation of aggressive dingo activity over the last 4 or 5 years. It's been 25 years since there was a fatal attack.
