Indra Ban came to Australia back in 1975 and went on to become the first Nepali to receive the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM). Over the past 50 years, she’s played a big role in guiding and supporting the Nepali community here. In this 10-part special series, we’ll hear about her journey and experiences in Australia. In this ninth episode, Indra Ban spoke to SBS Nepali about the beginnings of the Nepal Eye Program and its partnership with the Fred Hollows Foundation.
