Australians have raised more than $2 million within the first 36 hours to provide humanitarian assistance to people affected by the Bhotekoshi-Trishuli floods in Central Nepal. The funds were collected through the Nepal Flood Disaster Appeal launched by the Emergency Action Alliance (EAA), a group of 15 Australia-based organisations that provide humanitarian assistance during crises.
Australians seeking emergency consular assistance are advised to contact the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT)'s 24-hour Consular Emergency Centre on 1300 555 135, or from overseas on +61 2 6261 3305.
