Following Nepal's Gen Z protests on September 8 and the events that followed, the country now has a new interim Prime Minister, Chief Justice Sushila Karki. After her appointment, Prime Minister Karki recommended the dissolution of the House of Representatives, which was then dissolved by President Ram Chandra Poudel. Karki has been mandated to hold elections within six months, with the House of Representatives elections scheduled for Thursday, 5 March 2026. Our Nepal correspondent Prayas Dulal spoke with locals in Kathmandu about their thoughts on the political changes and expectations from the new government.
