Second-generation Australian-Punjabi Harsheen Saini, born and raised in Sydney’s west, credits her love for her mother tongue, Punjabi, for becoming the highest scorer in HSC Punjabi. The Penrith Selective High School student says she didn’t rely on past exam papers; instead, she honed her language skills by reading Punjabi literature, newspapers, and Gurbani (Sikh scripture). Now, she aspires to become a teacher and pass on her passion for culture, language, and literature to future generations.
