Speaking to SBS Punjabi at the 38th Australian Sikh Games, former Indian women’s hockey captain Rani Rampal said she is proud to be an ambassador for the Hockey One League team Melbourne Cobras and urged migrant girls to believe in their dreams. She added that the team will include players from both Australia and India, which she believes will strengthen hockey ties between the two countries.

She also said she was impressed by the vibrant atmosphere and strong community participation at the Australian Sikh Games.

Reflecting on her own journey, she spoke about the challenges she faced growing up in Haryana and how she went on to establish herself on the global stage.
