Australian submarine deal imminent as AUKUS begins

Within hours the landmark defence pact underpinning Australia’s defence venture into nuclear powered submarines will be launched in San Diego. The US President, UK Prime Minister and Australia’s leader Anthony Albanese have all arrived in the West Coast city, framing this multibillion dollar deal as a new dawn for defence and security cooperation at a critical moment in world history.
