Recipe: Noni Sachdeva
Ingredients
- 1 cup whole urad/ black gram dal (boiled)
- ¼ cup Rajma/red kidney beans (boiled)
- 1 tbl ghee
- 1 ½ cup onion (finely chopped)
- 2 cups tomato pureed
- 1 tbl ginger garlic paste
- ¼ tbl turmeric powder
- 1 tbl red chilli powder
- 2 tbl Garam masala powder
- Salt to taste
- Urad dal water (left from boiling)
- 1 tbl cream
Method
- Soak whole urad and rajma in water overnight.
- Then pressure cook it and keep ready.
- In a saucepan, add ghee and onion cook till the onions turn light in colour.
- Add ginger garlic paste and cook for about 1 min.
- Add tomato puree, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt, garam masala powder and cook till oil separates from the masala.
- Add boiled whole urad, rajma and urad dal water to get the desired consistency.
- Let this come to a boil and add cream.
- Cook till dal thickens.
- Serve hot.
- Garnish with some fresh ginger.
