SBS Nepali was recently in Far North Queensland broadcasting a live Tihar Special radio program from Cairns together with the other seven South Asian language services of SBS. This podcast episode features our conversation recorded during the live broadcast on Thursday, 9 October 2025, with Sanjaya Parajuli, an engineer at Cairns Regional Council; the head of the Cairns chapter of the Global Organisation of People of Indian Origin (GOPIO), Subash Chetri; and Rojina Banskota, a nurse with Queensland Health. The trio spoke to SBS Nepali about life in Cairns and about celebrating cultural festivals like Tihar and Deepawali.
