SBS Nepali was recently in Far North Queensland (FNQ) broadcasting a live Tihar Special radio program from Cairns together with the other seven South Asian language services of SBS. This podcast episode features our conversation recorded during the live broadcast on Thursday, 9 October 2025, with Tejman Rayaka Monger from the Cairns Bhutanese Community Inc., together with Sumitra and Dhana Gautam, who own and operate a small business in Cairns. The trio spoke to SBS Nepali about life in Cairns, their journey from Bhutan and Nepal to the FNQ city and about celebrating cultural festivals like Tihar and Deepawali.
