January 26

It's a day with multiple meanings.

For some it's a celebration, commemorating the arrival of the First Fleet in 1788, the beginnings of a nation. It's seen as a day to reflect on what it means to be Australian, to celebrate contemporary Australia and the Aussie identity. Others consider it a day of mourning, to acknowledge our past and to respect and celebrate First Nations survival, resilience and enduring culture.
