Nike surprised the athlete with a contract at the end of a marathon.

Justin Gallegos has become the first professional athlete with Cerebral Palsy to sign with Nike after the sports brand surprised him with a contract after he'd just run a marathon.

Mr Gallegos, a junior at the University of Oregon, was competing in a marathon when he was met at the finish line by a video crew and Nike's Insight's Director John Douglas.

The inspirational athlete believed the cameras were there to film the cross country event, but in a heartwarming twist, Mr Douglas surprised the athlete with a pro contract at the end of the race.

Mr Gallegos broke down in tears as he later wrote it was "the most emotional moment in my seven years of running!"

The contract was made even more special as it was awarded on Cerebral Palsy Awareness Day.

Mr Gallegos aims to break the two-hour mark in a marathon. He has previously helped Nike create a running shoe for people with disabilities.
