Snowed-in German town declares state of emergency, calls for army's help


The snowed-in southern German town of Berchtesgaden in Bavaria has declared a state of emergency, calling for the army's help to clear snow from roofs. Heavy snowfall has resulted in the closure of schools and train services were suspended as travel was deemed unsafe due to falling trees overloaded with snow.
